Guide Pratique de la Lithothérapie

Practical Guide to Lithotherapy

For humans and animals – Energetic, gentle and natural approach

I. PREPARATION BEFORE USE

1. Choose your stone

First of all, you must choose a stone based on:

  • From the desired objective (calm, energy, protection, healing, etc.)
  • From your feelings: sometimes a stone attracts you for no reason — this is often a good clue
  • Colors (associated with chakras or emotions)
  • From your astrological sign (optional, but used by some)

Examples :

Amethyst : calming, mental clarity

Rose quartz : gentleness, love, emotional healing

Black tourmaline : grounding, protection against waves

Citrine : confidence, vitality

Lapis lazuli : expression, intuition

2. Clean the stone

A stone must be purified upon arrival at your home and regularly thereafter.

Common methods :

Clear water : rinse under running water (avoid for soft stones: selenite, malachite, etc.)

Smudging : Pass the stone through the smoke of sage, palo santo or incense

Salt : place on a bed of dry salt (not recommended for fragile stones)

Tibetan bowl or sound : sound vibrations cleanse energies

3. Recharge the stone

After purification, recharge the stone:

Sunlight : ideal for solar stones (citrine, tiger's eye)

Moonlight : soft, ideal for sensitive stones (amethyst, moonstone)

Quartz cluster : place stones on top to energize them

Earth : put the stone in overnight to recharge it naturally

II. USE FOR HUMANS

1. Carrying on oneself

As a pendant, bracelet, ring or tumbled stone in the pocket

Ideal for constant energy work throughout the day

2. Meditative or spiritual use

Hold the stone in your hand during meditation

Place it on the corresponding chakra

Use it as an anchor to set an intention or affirmation

3. In the house

Rose quartz in the bedroom for peaceful sleep

Black tourmaline near electronic devices

Citrine in the office for creativity and abundance

4. In energy care

Placing stones on the chakras during a lying down session

Accompaniment with singing bowls, essential oils or Reiki

Average duration: 20 to 30 minutes

III. ANIMAL LITHOTHERAPY

1. Basic principles

Animals are very sensitive to energy. The approach must be gentle, gradual, and non-intrusive. The stone must always be kept at a safe distance from the animal (no ingestion possible).

2. Methods of use

a. Necklaces or pendants

Small crystals embedded in a necklace (securely attached, not dangly or noisy)

Fixed in a soft pouch (natural fabric)

Choose a suitable stone: rose quartz for comfort, amethyst for restlessness

b. Stones in resting places

Place a stone under a cushion, rug or near the basket

Make sure the animal cannot bite or chew it

c. Energy care

During a quiet session, hold a stone in the hand close to the animal

Observe his reactions: if he moves away, don't insist.

Some animals come spontaneously to the stone

3. Choose a stone based on the animal's needs

Frequent cases:

  • Stress/anxiety (barking, trembling, isolation): rose quartz, amethyst
  • Protection (unstable environment, refuge): black obsidian, tourmaline
  • Vitality (fatigue, convalescence): carnelian, red jasper
  • Hyperactivity / aggression: lepidolite, turquoise
  • Trust (socialization, adoption): citrine, green aventurine

4. Positive signs in the animal

He comes regularly near the stone

He sleeps nearby

He is calmer, more peaceful, responsive to cuddles

5. Precautions

Never force an animal

Do not fix a stone too close to the neck, avoid any risk of ingestion

Observe tolerance: each animal is unique

Never replace veterinary treatment with a stone

IV. MAINTENANCE AND PROGRAMMING OF THE STONES

1. Regular purification

Same principle as for the arrival: water, smoke, Tibetan bowl. To be done every 7 to 10 days if used frequently.

2. Recharge

Have the stones recharged regularly according to their type (see part I).

3. Set an intention

Hold the stone in your hands, visualize your intention (e.g., "I wish for more calm in my life"), and mentally emit this intention into the stone. This "directs" its energy.

V. LITTLE INITIATION RITUAL

1. Find a quiet place

2. Clean and recharge your stone

3. Hold it in your left (receptive) hand

4. Close your eyes, breathe slowly

5. Visualize the stone's energy merging with yours

6. Set a clear and gentle intention

7. Keep the stone with you or place it in a symbolic place

VI. GOING FURTHER

Keep a lithotherapy journal: note down your feelings, dreams, mood changes

Combine stones with other practices: meditation, yoga, aromatherapy, Reiki

Explore crystal combinations to create synergies

And I am happy to share that I recently obtained my practitioner certificate in Lithotherapy, as well as in Animal Lithotherapy. This training allowed me to further specialize in stone therapy, learning to work with their vibrations and energetic benefits, both for humans and animals. It is a holistic and respectful approach to living things, which I now integrate with great meaning and heart into my support.
