Les Auras : Le Champ Subtil de l’Être

Auras: The Subtle Field of Being

The aura is an ancient and profound concept that permeates spiritual, energetic, and mystical traditions around the world. Invisible to the naked eye for most, but felt by the most sensitive, the aura is the vibrational emanation of the being, an energetic signature unique to each individual, each animal, each living being.

But what exactly is an aura? What does its color mean? Can it change? How can you feel it, read it, and purify it? Here's a detailed journey into the heart of the human energy field.

I. Definition: What is the aura?

The word “aura” comes from the Latin aura, which means “breath, light breeze.”

In energy language, the aura is described as a luminous, vibrant, multidimensional envelope that surrounds and penetrates the physical body.

It is also called:

Vital field

Etheric body

Subtle energy

Bio-energetic field

She is not “outside” us: she is us, in our non-physical dimension.

It is the sum of our states: emotional, mental, spiritual, karmic.

II. The spiritual and traditional origins of the aura

The aura is recognized in almost all traditions:

In India: the energetic body is explored through the chakras, the nadis, and the subtle bodies (koshas).

In ancient Christianity: halos around saints are representations of pure aura.

In China: Qi (chi), vital energy, circulates in the body and radiates around it.

Among shamans: the aura is perceived as a living, modifiable field of light, crossed by spirits, memories, wounds

III. What is the aura made of? The vibrational layers

The aura is not a uniform “halo.” It is layered, composed of several interconnected layers that vibrate at different frequencies.

1. The etheric body

First layer, closest to the body.

Reflects vitality, physical state, circulation of vital energy.

What is the Etheric Body?

The etheric body is considered the first layer of subtle energy around the physical body.

It is the energy envelope which:

  • Supplies the body with vital energy,
  • Maintains physical health,
  • Connects the physical body to other spiritual levels.

We can imagine it as an invisible double of the body, slightly larger than the skin, vibrant, luminous, and linked to life.

Role of the Etheric Body :

Transmit life energy (called prana, chi, or life force) to the physical body.

Supporting health: Any disturbance in the etheric body can affect the material body (and vice versa).

Act as a bridge between the physical world and the energetic world.

Without the etheric body, the physical body would be like an engine without fuel.

Appearance :

It is often described as a luminous, bluish, white or silvery halo,

Very thin: it protrudes from the physical body by about 1 to 5 cm,

It follows the contours of the body exactly, like a second luminous skin.

In summary:

> The etheric body is the vital energy field that nourishes and supports our physical body, the first link between the material world and the spiritual world.

2. The emotional body

Carry emotions in motion.

Can be disturbed or colored by joy, fear, anger, etc.

What is the Emotional Body?

The emotional body is the second layer of subtle energy around the physical body.

It is linked to all our emotions—joy, anger, sadness, love—and reacts to our inner state.

Main features :

It is the energy field where our emotions live and vibrate.

It directly influences our mood and emotional health.

Positive emotions make this body bright; negative emotions darken or cloud it.

Appearance :

Larger than the etheric body (about 5 to 10 cm from the physical body),

Fluctuating: it changes color, intensity and shape according to emotions,

Often seen as moving waves of color around us.

In summary:

> The emotional body is the energetic space where all our emotions are born and spread.

3. The mental body

Contains thoughts, beliefs, intentions.

Clearer, more geometric structure.

The mental body is one of the subtle bodies of the human being.

It is the seat of our thoughts, our logic and our imagination.

Through it, we develop ideas, analyze the world and structure our knowledge.

The mental body directly influences our emotions and behaviors because it shapes how we interpret what happens to us.

It is also said that there is a lower mind (related to everyday thoughts) and a higher mind (related to higher, spiritual ideas).

4. The spiritual or causal body

Connected to the soul, to karmic experiences, to life mission.

This is where deep memories reside.

Some traditions add 5, 7, or even 12 layers. All interact like expanding magnetic fields.

The causal body is a subtle body even deeper than the mental body.

It is considered the seat of the soul, the place where our past experiences, our karmas and our great life lessons are stored.

The causal body stores everything important we learn throughout our incarnations, in the form of essences of experiences.

It is through him that we develop our inner wisdom and build our spiritual identity.

It is often seen as the link between the temporary personality and the eternal being.

IV. The colors of the aura: a symbolic and intuitive reading

Each color of the aura corresponds to a frequency, a state of being, energetic information.

These colors are dynamic: they change according to our state, our thoughts, our emotions.

Some common correspondences:

  • Red: vital energy, grounding, instinct, anger or brute force
  • Orange: creativity, sensuality, joy of life, dynamism
  • Yellow: intellect, clarity, self-confidence, ego
  • Green: love, healing, harmony, opening of the heart
  • Light blue: communication, expression, peace
  • Indigo: intuition, dream, inner vision
  • Violet: spirituality, wisdom, connection to the soul
  • White: purity, divine protection, very high vibration
  • Black / Gray: fatigue, blockage, protection or overload

> Note: a dark aura is not necessarily "bad", it can be protective, repairing, or transforming.

V. Can we see or feel the aura?

Yes, some highly sensitive or trained people can:

  • Perceive it clairvoyantly (lights, colored waves, halos)
  • Feel it through clairsentience (heat, tingling, tension)
  • Listen to it internally (feel a frequency, a density)

You can develop your perception of the aura by:

  • Meditation
  • Energy exercises (Qi Gong, Reiki, LaHoChi, etc.)
  • Soft concentration of the gaze (in a mirror, with soft light)
  • Working with stones or singing bowls

VI. Aura and energetic health

The aura is a revealer of inner state. Before a disorder manifests in the physical body, it is often detectable in the aura.

  • A “holey” aura can indicate an energy leak.
  • An “oppressed” aura can signal emotional overload.
  • A “hard” aura can reveal a closure to the world or an inner armor.

Cleansing your aura is like taking an energy shower: you remove what doesn't belong to you and rebalance your vibration.

VII. How to purify and strengthen your aura?

1. Purification methods

  • Salt bath (or sea bath)
  • Smudging (sage, palo santo, incense)
  • Vibrational sounds (bowls, mantras, tuning forks)
  • Conscious breathing
  • Invocation of light or spirit guides

2. Reinforcement methods

  • Visualization of light around oneself
  • Prayer / clear intention
  • Regular meditation
  • Working with stones (labradorite, obsidian, clear quartz, etc.)
  • Grounding in nature (walking barefoot, connecting with the elements)

VIII. The aura of animals, places, objects

Animals: have a very pure, instinctive aura. They “read” ours without filter.

Places: carry a vibratory memory (churches, hospitals, old houses, etc.)

Objects: especially those worn (jewelry, clothing), can retain an energetic imprint.

As a spiritual jewelry designer, I charge each piece with an aura, an energetic intention transmitted to the wearer.

IX. Why work with your aura?

Because your aura is your interface with the world. It's your first contact, your filter, your shield, your mirror.

Working on your aura means:

  • Get to know you better
  • Protect yourself from external influences
  • Become more magnetic, more centered
  • Attract relationships, opportunities, energies aligned with you

> The aura is your inner atmosphere made visible.

Conclusion : the aura, a sacred light in perpetual movement

Your aura isn't fixed. It lives, it breathes, it evolves.

It speaks about you, even when you say nothing. It records, protects, reveals, transmits.

It is your sacred space, your soul canvas.

And like all light: it deserves to be honored, illuminated, loved.

Exercises to feel and harmonize the aura (human & animal)

1. Feel the aura with your hands (exploration exercise)

Goal: to develop perception of the aura through subtle touch.

For oneself:

1. Gently rub your hands together for 20 seconds

2. Move them apart very slowly, palms facing each other, about ten centimeters apart.

3. Bring them together, then gently move them apart, as if you were “shaping a ball of energy.”

4. Observe the tingling, heat, resistance: this is your auric field.

With your pet:

1. Bring your hands close to his body (without touching him).

2. Let yourself be guided: slowly walk around him, 10-20 cm away.

3. Observe where the energy is flowing, where it “resists” or changes (injured, stressed, overloaded area).

4. Stay a few minutes in each area to harmonize with the intention: “I bring you calm and gentleness.”

2. Energy brushing

Purpose: To gently purify the aura, especially after a busy day or stress.

For oneself:

1. Standing or sitting, visualize a white or golden light enveloping you.

2. Run your hands from head to toe, about 5-10 cm away from the body, as if you were “cleaning the light”.

3. Expires on each swipe.

4. Finish by placing your hands on your heart or stomach.

For your pet:

1. Do it in a quiet moment.

2. Place one hand on his heart (or his head if he likes), the other above his back.

3. Brush slowly with the intention of lightening, soothing.

4. You can say: “I free your aura from what does not belong to you.”

3. Alignment of auras (co-regulation)

Goal: to synchronize the energies between you and your animal.

1. Sit or lie down next to him

2. Place one hand on your heart, the other on your side or between your shoulder blades.

3. Breathe together—slowly—for several minutes.

4. Visualize your auras vibrating in time, like two circles of light coming together.

5. Say to yourself: “We are at peace together. I honor you.”

4. The “intuitive scan” exercise

Goal: to listen to the aura as a living memory.

1. Close your eyes. Visualize your aura as a colorful sphere around you.

2. Mentally walk your awareness around: are there darker areas? colder areas? tense areas?

3. Place your hand there and ask, “What message do you have for me?”

4. Note what comes: image, word, feeling.

With your pet : Do the same, but with a gentler intention, as if you were “listening to their invisible language.” The responses can be very subtle, but powerful (an emotion, a clear thought, a need).

5. Strengthen the aura with golden light

Purpose: To stabilize and amplify the vital force of the aura.

For both:

1. In visualization, imagine a large ray of golden light descending above you (and/or your pet).

2. Breathe gently, letting this light envelop and penetrate the aura.

3. Visualize that each layer strengthens, balances, and harmonizes.

4. Finally, surround the aura with a thin protective golden membrane.

6. The aura of connection: creating a sacred space between two beings

Goal: to harmonize the relationship, heal invisible wounds.

1. Visualize your aura and that of your animal as two bubbles of light.

2. Between them, visualize a bridge, a ray of light, or a heart-shaped space.

3. Say to yourself:

“I'm listening to you. I feel you. Thank you for being here.”

“I clean up what no longer needs to exist between us.”

4. Let the bridge shine in soft colors (pink, green, light blue, etc.).
