Malachite – Stone of transformation, emotional grounding and powerful protection
1. History & Origin
Malachite has been used for over 5,000 years for its decorative, spiritual and medicinal properties.
Its name comes from the ancient Greek “malakhê”, which means mauve, in reference to its green color evoking the leaves of this plant.
In ancient Egypt, it was considered a stone of rebirth and protection, often ground to serve as green rouge or sacred ointment.
Among the Romans, it was called “the stone of midwives” because it accompanied childbirth.
In the Middle Ages, it was used as a protective talisman against the evil eye, poisons and dark energies.
Malachite is today recognized as one of the most powerful stones for emotional liberation, inner transmutation and active vibrational protection.
