Arizona Turquoise – Sky Medicine, Sacred Protection and Peaceful Expression
1. History & Origin
Turquoise is one of the oldest known gemstones, used for millennia in Egyptian, Persian, Tibetan, Native American, and Aztec civilizations.
Its name comes from the word “turquois” (stone from Türkiye), although it historically originates from Iran, Egypt and, today, the United States.
Arizona Turquoise is mined in the arid red soils of the American Southwest, particularly in areas considered sacred by indigenous peoples: the Navajo, Apache, Zuni, and Hopi.
For them, turquoise is a stone of life, of heaven and protection, bringing blessing, balance and truth.
The one from Arizona is highly valued for its purity of color, its natural resistance and its stable vibrational frequency, often veined with brown, gray, black or gold depending on the deposits (Sleeping Beauty, Kingman, Morenci, etc.).
2. Origin & Training
Turquoise is formed in desert areas, within rocks rich in copper and aluminum, by the infiltration of mineral waters.
It belongs to the phosphate family.
